In Kerala’s sacred tradition, Bhagavathi is worshipped as the embodiment of Shakti — divine strength, protection, compassion, and righteous power. She is both the fierce protector and the loving mother. Here at Vellathery Kudumba Kshetram: She is invoked through poojas and traditional rituals. She is adorned with lamps, flowers, and sacred offerings. She is worshipped as the guardian of the family and the village. Devotees experience Her presence as strength in difficulty, clarity in confusion, and peace in surrender.
Our sacred beginnings
The Vellathery Kudumba Kshetram was established as a humble yet deeply devoted family temple in the serene village of Mundathicode, Thrissur. Rooted in ancestral faith and guided by unwavering devotion to Bhagavathi, the Divine Mother, this sacred space was consecrated as an offering of gratitude and surrender. What began as a family’s commitment to preserve dharma has grown into a spiritual sanctuary open to all sincere devotees seeking the grace of Amma. The utter sincerity, devotion and complete faith with which our respected elders such as Guruvayur mama and others persevered to re-establish this temple can never be over empasised.
